|Description:||These are "show season" positions starting as early as September, but with the majority starting in January 2013 and going through May 2013. Starting rate is $10/hr. Work hours per week VARY GREATLY. Hours of work are flexible. Many weekend hours are available. This position requires union participation. (Union initiation fee and monthly union dues are payroll deducted.) Discounted meals are available to employees. Full uniforms are provided. The I-X Center is a fun, friendly, drug-free workplace.|
|Duties:||CONCESSION DUTIES: • Serves, wraps, or bags food products as instructed • Re-stocks concession items when necessary before/after and throughout the shift • Identifies and reports any problems with the quality or quantity of food being served • Wipes and cleans counter tops, food storage areas, seating area, and other associated areas as needed throughout the shift • Ensures that all customer interactions are positive and that they are satisfied with all aspects of the service they receive • Complies with all established procedures and rules for handling concession products. • Maintains a neat appearance and observes all uniform/dress standards and hygiene standards • Alerts supervisor of any emergencies, accidents or significant customer issues CATERING DUTIES: • Loads and carries large trays of food on covered dinner plates to banquet tables • Arranges place settings, center pieces, and table set-up items • Serves food in a professional, courteous manner using industry-standard serving techniques • Communicates effectively with guests to fill their requests and answers their questions • Is responsible for full service for up to 30 guests (3 tables) per banquet • Maintains a professional demeanor and a courteous, helpful attitude at all times • Reports mishaps promptly and facilitates clean-ups in an efficient and safe manner • Clears tables promptly in a non-disruptive manner • Replenishes/refills beverages as needed • Complies with all relevant health department rules and regulations • Complies with dress code and maintains a high standard of personal hygiene at all times BARTENDING DUTIES • Greet guests in a timely and professional manner Verify that guests who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age • Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make drink recommendations • Use suggestive selling techniques where appropriate • Ensure beverage products are fresh, appetizing, and properly prepared • Ensure that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only • Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar • Inform Runner of restock supplies needed in a timely fashion • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including related equipment • Adhere to I-X Center’s Tipping Policy ALL POSITIONS PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE TO OUR GUESTS AT ALL TIMES. |
|Qualifications:||• Bartenders must be 21 or older • Excellent Customer Service skills are required • Must maintain a neat appearance and observe all hygiene standards • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check • Ability to acquire TIPS certification (training provided) • Must be dependable and have reliable, steady transportation to and from work • Must be friendly and have a ‘teamwork’ attitude • Ability to speak and understand English • Ability to work some evenings and weekends . • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Work environment can be noisy at times • Requires bending, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs • Must be able to provide proper footwear |
